COLOR GUARD

WORLD GUARD

The World Guard is comprised of eighteen to twenty-four performers in the color guard. The World Guard is selected through a weeklong audition process in which all of the skill sets required to be in the World Guard are taught and accessed. The World Guard’s season begins in late October/early November and concludes in April.   The World Guard is a class that meets (for credit) throughout the entire year.  After football season and the competitive marching band season, two-three afternoon rehearsals per week is required.  The World Guard represents Choctawhatchee High School on the local circuit level, competing in several competitions in the Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi area.  The World Guard also competes on the international level at the Winter Guard International World Championships, in which the World Guard has made Scholastic World finals twenty-seven times and is the second longest running World Class Guard in WGI.  There is a financial obligation each student will be responsible for to be considered an active participant in the World Guard.  Specific fees will be known in November/December for the upcoming World Guard season.

 
 

A-GUARD 

The A-Guard is selected through a weeklong audition process in which all of the skill sets required to be in the A-Guard are taught and accessed.  The A-Guard season begins in late October/early November and concludes in April.  The A-Guard is a class that meets (for credit) throughout the entire year. After football season and the competitive marching band season, one-two afternoon rehearsals per week are required.  The A-Guard represents Choctawhatchee High School on the local circuit level, competing in several competitions in the Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi area.  The A-Guard also competes on the local Winter Guard International level competing in the WGI regionals in the area.  There is a financial obligation each student will be responsible for to be considered an active participant in the A-Guard. Specific fees will be known in November/December for the upcoming A-Guard season.
