Hire a Style Marcher
Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to the 2010-2011 Hire-a-Style-Marcher program. This has been an important part of the CHS band program for many years. It is a wonderful opportunity to help all interested students earn part of the expenses associated with being a member of the band. I am very excited to be heading up the program this year. We hope to provide many opportunities for interested students to make money.
There are several guidelines that you need to be aware of if you would like to be a part of this program. Please read the following carefully.

A Parent-Guardian Release Form (front) and Parent-Guardian Release Form (back) MUST be signed and notarized before participating in the HASM program. Additionally, an Information Sheet MUST be on file.

For the safety of all concerned, we utilize the buddy system. Students MUST be accompanied by a fellow HASM participant, or a parent.

The money for the job completed is given directly to the student via cash, or a check made out to CHS Band. A Hire a Style Marcher Receipt MUST be filled out and signed by all parties. The earned money must then be deposited into the student’s band account for use toward fees or trips.

When a job is assigned, the parents and/or students are contacted to relay the information about the job. It is recommended that the parent(s) take the time to speak to, or personally meet the donor so that they are comfortable with their student(s) working there.

You are representing one of the most prestigious groups in this area. Individual efforts reflect on the entire band program. If you commit to a job, be sure that you follow through and do the job as arranged. Emergencies and/or illnesses are understood. “Mind changes” or “something better came up” are NOT understood or acceptable. Be prompt and polite, and remain professional. Take pride in what you are doing and behave in a manner that will prompt the donor to call us back when they need help.

If you cannot do the job that you committed to, please call the donor immediately. You may make arrangements with them for another time.

Please inform me if there are changes to any of the following pieces of information: address, telephone number, interest level, days available to work, or any other information that might affect your job opportunities.

Jobs will be posted via emails. The first students expressing interest will be considered for the job.
Many students have paid for their fees and “big trips” by taking these jobs. We want to make this program work for you. Help us help you. If you have suggestions, comments, questions, or concerns about Choctaw’s Hire-a-Style-Marcher program, please contact the chairman or let the Band Directors know.
